| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Ann Reinhardt Allen, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | who died January 25, 2009, at the age of 73; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born in San Antonio, Ann was a graduate of El |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Campo High School; she attended The University of Texas and the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | University of Colorado before earning her bachelor's degree from |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Southwestern University, where she was a member of Delta Delta |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Delta and Phi Delta Upsilon and served as editor of Southwestern |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | magazine; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, She was a dedicated educator for many years, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | teaching at King High School and Mary Carroll High School in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Corpus Christi; she also served as media coordinator at the Texas |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | School for the Blind and Visually Impaired; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Following a stint as an administrative assistant |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | for the Texas House of Representatives, she returned to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | education, teaching in the Eanes Independent School District, at |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Tivy High School in Kerrville, and at The Koc School in Istanbul, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Turkey; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, A woman of dedication and compassion, she gave |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | generously to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and zest for life |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | will continue to live in the hearts and minds of those she left |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | behind; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | family of Ann Reinhardt Allen: her children, Jeff and Kristi |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Allen; and her grandchildren, Kiersten and Kees Inserni; and, be |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | it further |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 35 | 35 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
