| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Committed to introducing new and acknowledged |

| 7 | 7 | | leaders to the Southlake community, Leadership Southlake is an |

| 8 | 8 | | eight-month program of classes and community involvement |

| 9 | 9 | | designed to teach emerging leaders the fine points of such issues |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | as local government, health care, and the impact of technology; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and |

| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Southlake is sponsored by the |

| 13 | 13 | | Southlake Chamber of Commerce and the City of Southlake; it |

| 14 | 14 | | offers participants the opportunity to meet other community |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | leaders and to involve their businesses in issues that affect |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | quality of life in the community; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, By offering the opportunity to gain greater |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | knowledge of the region, increased leadership skills, and a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | network of other community leaders, Leadership Southlake plays |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | an important role in ensuring the continuing prosperity of the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Southlake area; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of Leadership Southlake |

| 24 | 24 | | on their commitment to improving their community and extend to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | them best wishes for success in all their future endeavors; and, |
