| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | honor Dr. Hilton Israelson on the occasion of Texas Dental |

| 4 | 4 | | Association Day, February 25, 2009; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Israelson is the current president of the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Texas Dental Association, an organization he has served in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | various capacities, including as vice president and director; he |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | is an associate clinical professor in the Department of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Periodontology at Baylor College of Dentistry, and he maintains a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | private practice in Richardson; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Israelson earned his dental degree at the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa; over |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the course of his career, he has published numerous articles in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | scholarly journals and made many presentations at conferences |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and seminars; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Active in dentistry research, he has pursued |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | studies in the field of osseointegrated implants in addition to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | his duties as a professor and the demands of his private |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | practice; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Israelson has earned many honors through the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | years, including the Texas Academy of General Dentistry's |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Dentist of the Year and the Texas Society of Periodontists' |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | President's Award; he is truly deserving of recognition for his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | many accomplishments and his contributions to the profession of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | dentistry; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Hilton Israelson for his many |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | achievements in the field of dentistry and extend to him best |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors; and, be |
