SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 291 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to honor Dr. Hilton Israelson on the occasion of Texas Dental Association Day, February 25, 2009; and WHEREAS, Dr. Israelson is the current president of the Texas Dental Association, an organization he has served in various capacities, including as vice president and director; he is an associate clinical professor in the Department of Periodontology at Baylor College of Dentistry, and he maintains a private practice in Richardson; and WHEREAS, Dr. Israelson earned his dental degree at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa; over the course of his career, he has published numerous articles in scholarly journals and made many presentations at conferences and seminars; and WHEREAS, Active in dentistry research, he has pursued studies in the field of osseointegrated implants in addition to his duties as a professor and the demands of his private practice; and WHEREAS, Dr. Israelson has earned many honors through the years, including the Texas Academy of General Dentistry's Dentist of the Year and the Texas Society of Periodontists' President's Award; he is truly deserving of recognition for his many accomplishments and his contributions to the profession of dentistry; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Hilton Israelson for his many achievements in the field of dentistry and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high esteem from the Texas Senate.
