| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Lissa Smith for her 10 years of outstanding service as |

| 4 | 4 | | district director for State Senator Florence Shapiro; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A longtime community activist and Plano civic |

| 6 | 6 | | leader, Lissa Smith has contributed greatly to the betterment of |

| 7 | 7 | | the North Texas area with her dedication, her knowledge, and her |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | proven ability to get things accomplished; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, Lissa Smith has held |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | leadership roles with numerous boards and organizations through |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the years, including the community college foundation board, the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | child protective services board, and the transportation bond |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | committee; and |

| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Lissa Smith has handled |

| 15 | 15 | | her many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | dedication; she was named one of the "21 Leaders for the 21st |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Century" by Inside Collin County Business, and she has served as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | president of the Conner Harrington Republican Women; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Lissa Smith is |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | respected and admired by her colleagues, and her work has had a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | positive impact on her community and her state; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Lissa Smith on her outstanding |

| 25 | 25 | | service to the state as district director for State Senator |

| 26 | 26 | | Florence Shapiro and extend to her best wishes for continued |
