                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 399
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in
 recognizing Athens High School debaters Russell Frautschi and
 Katie Stark; and
 WHEREAS, Russell Frautschi and Katie Stark are Athens High
 School juniors who have won the right to advance to the state
 University Interscholastic League debate competition; the event
 takes place March 15 through 17, 2009, in Austin; and
 WHEREAS, Respected for its sound academic curriculum and
 the superior educational environment it offers its students,
 Athens High School has had debaters advance to the state
 competition four out of the last five years; and
 WHEREAS, Russell and Katie became partners two years ago,
 when they were freshmen; the two work well together, and each is a
 source of support to the other; they compete as a cross
 examination debate team; and
 WHEREAS, Exemplary students, Russell and Katie are
 talented and industrious and strive for excellence in their
 endeavors, and their debating skills and success bring pride to
 their coach, Myrna Bass, and their fellow students at Athens High
 School; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
 Legislature, hereby commend Russell Frautschi and Katie Stark on
 earning a place as cross examination debaters in the state
 University Interscholastic League debate competition and extend
 to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 them as an expression of regard from the Texas Senate.
