| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize James E. Love for his outstanding work in support of |

| 4 | 4 | | education in San Antonio through his collaboration with the |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Heroes and Heritage Educational Summit; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Mr. Love served the nation for more than 20 years as an officer in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the United States Air Force; he retired from active duty in 1993 |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | as a lieutenant colonel, having earned numerous distinguished |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | awards, including the Secretary of Defense Award for Outstanding |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Achievement, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Force Meritorious Service Medal; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Today, Mr. Love continues to serve the nation as |

| 14 | 14 | | Acting Director of Military Equal Opportunity in the Office of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity at the United States |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Department of Defense; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Love has worked untiringly to bring together |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | students and community organizations like Heroes and Heritage to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | ensure that young people are afforded the opportunities to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | receive internships and jobs; his dedication to advancing the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | interests and education of the young people of our state is truly |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | deserving of respect and admiration; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend James E. Love on his commitment to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | equal opportunity for all students and extend to him best wishes |
