SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 443 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize James E. Love for his outstanding work in support of education in San Antonio through his collaboration with the Heroes and Heritage Educational Summit; and WHEREAS, A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Mr. Love served the nation for more than 20 years as an officer in the United States Air Force; he retired from active duty in 1993 as a lieutenant colonel, having earned numerous distinguished awards, including the Secretary of Defense Award for Outstanding Achievement, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal; and WHEREAS, Today, Mr. Love continues to serve the nation as Acting Director of Military Equal Opportunity in the Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity at the United States Department of Defense; and WHEREAS, Mr. Love has worked untiringly to bring together students and community organizations like Heroes and Heritage to ensure that young people are afforded the opportunities to receive internships and jobs; his dedication to advancing the interests and education of the young people of our state is truly deserving of respect and admiration; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend James E. Love on his commitment to equal opportunity for all students and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
