| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | citizens of El Paso in mourning the loss of Maria Esther Bencomo, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | who died February 2, 2009, at the age of 92; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Maria Bencomo was a longtime resident of El Paso |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | and a devout member of the Catholic community; she was most proud |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | of her wonderful family and of becoming a United States citizen, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | thus earning the right to vote; she went on to serve her precinct |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | for several years in the Democratic Party; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary lady who was noted for her kindness |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and generosity, she was respected by her community, and her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | who knew her; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Maria Bencomo was a source of strength to others |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she leaves behind |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | memories that will be treasured forever by her family and many |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | friends; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |

| 23 | 23 | | family of Maria Esther Bencomo: her daughter and son-in-law, |

| 24 | 24 | | Sylvia Carrillo and David; her granddaughters, Crystal Diana and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Christy Denise Carrillo; and her siblings, Rafaela Talavera, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Esteban Bencomo, Manuel Bencomo, Enedina Sotelo, Evangelina |
