| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the representatives of Texas Health Resources who have |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | come to the State Capitol to celebrate Texas Health Resources Day |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | on March 31, 2009; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Texas Health Resources is one of the largest |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | faith-based, nonprofit health care delivery systems in the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | country and the largest system in North Texas in terms of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | patients served; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Texas Health Resources was formed in 1997; it has |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 12 acute-care hospitals and one long-term care hospital, and it |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | is a corporate member or partner in six additional hospitals and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | surgery centers; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Texas Health Resources employs more than 18,000 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | people, and more than 3,600 physicians have staff privileges at |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | its hospitals; it fosters teamwork and diversity and provides an |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | excellent environment for its physicians, its staff, and its |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | patients; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Texas Health Resources is continuously improving |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the quality of its services through ongoing education and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | research and effective leadership, with the goal of being the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | health care system of choice for the communities it serves; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend the administration, staff, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | physicians affiliated with Texas Health Resources and extend to |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | all who have come to Austin best wishes for an excellent Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Health Resources Day at the Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an |

| 30 | 30 | | expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
