SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 518
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the representatives of Texas Health Resources who have
come to the State Capitol to celebrate Texas Health Resources Day
on March 31, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Texas Health Resources is one of the largest
faith-based, nonprofit health care delivery systems in the
country and the largest system in North Texas in terms of
patients served; and
WHEREAS, Texas Health Resources was formed in 1997; it has
12 acute-care hospitals and one long-term care hospital, and it
is a corporate member or partner in six additional hospitals and
surgery centers; and
WHEREAS, Texas Health Resources employs more than 18,000
people, and more than 3,600 physicians have staff privileges at
its hospitals; it fosters teamwork and diversity and provides an
excellent environment for its physicians, its staff, and its
patients; and
WHEREAS, Texas Health Resources is continuously improving
the quality of its services through ongoing education and
research and effective leadership, with the goal of being the
health care system of choice for the communities it serves; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
Legislature, hereby commend the administration, staff, and
physicians affiliated with Texas Health Resources and extend to
all who have come to Austin best wishes for an excellent Texas
Health Resources Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an
expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
