SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 556
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Greater Keller Women's Club on the occasion of its
20th anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1989 when a group of 30
community-minded women responded to an appeal for civic
engagement, the Greater Keller Women's Club has become a driving
force for progress and philanthropy in the Keller area; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to promoting the common good and
general welfare of the people of the community, the club has
become well known for its many contributions of funds and
volunteer hours to a wide variety of nonprofit organizations;
among the recipients of its largesse are the Community
Storehouse, Summer Santa, the Keller Library, and Metroport
Meals on Wheels; and
WHEREAS, The club has also provided scholarships to
deserving students in the Keller Independent School District,
organized parties for the Mimosa Manor Care Center, and supplied
Christmas baskets for needy families; and
WHEREAS, The Greater Keller Women's Club has won numerous
awards for its exemplary work, including the Pat Nimmo Riddle
Club of the Year Award; it has become an integral part of the
Keller community and is truly deserving of recognition for its
many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Greater Keller
Women's Club on their many contributions to the Keller community
and extend to them best wishes for a memorable 20th anniversary;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this outstanding organization as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
