                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 593
 In Memory
 of
 Socorro Amieva Gonzlez
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of Brownsville in mourning the loss of Socorro Amieva
 Gonzlez, who died recently at the age of 82; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Tampico, Mexico, Socorro Amieva Gonzlez
 was a beloved and respected member of her community; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Gonzlez was an exemplary citizen who was
 admired for her many accomplishments; she enriched all who knew
 her with her kindness and her enthusiasm for living each day to
 the fullest; and
 WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and endless
 compassion, Mrs. Gonzlez gave generously to others, and her
 wisdom, warmth, and gracious spirit will not be forgotten by
 those who knew her; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Gonzlez was a devoted wife, mother, and
 grandmother, and her family and many friends will long cherish
 the memories of her life and her many achievements; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Socorro Amieva Gonzlez: her loving husband of 65
 years, Vctor M. Gonzlez, Sr.; her son and daughter-in-law,
 Chester and Janet Gonzlez; her daughters and sons-in-law,
 Yolanda Gonzlez-Fuentes and her husband, Alejandro, and
 Patricia Gonzlez-Portillo and her husband, Ral; her sisters,
 Emma, Alicia, Lilia, and Irma; and her grandchildren, Adriana,
 Gabriela, Alejandro, Vanessa, Daniela, Victoria, Vctor, and
 Alan; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Socorro Amieva Gonzlez.
