| 3 | 3 | | recognize the volunteers of Collin County and to celebrate |

| 4 | 4 | | Volunteer Day on April 21, 2009; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Volunteers play a vital role in the successful |

| 6 | 6 | | development of a community; the volunteers of Collin County have |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | been exceptionally generous with their time, their energy, and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | their resources and they have made a significant difference in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the lives of others; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, On April 21, the Volunteer Center of North Texas |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | will introduce the 2009 Volunteers of the Year at the Lone Star |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Salute!; the volunteer center is celebrating its 38th year of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | helping people to help others, playing matchmaker to the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | thousands of nonprofit organizations needing assistance and to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the many volunteers who are eager to help them; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The citizens of Collin County donate immeasurable |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | hours helping to improve the lives of others in the community in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | areas ranging from violence prevention to animal advocacy; the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Collin County Volunteer of the Year Lone Star Salute! is an |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | excellent occasion to express appreciation to them for their |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | kindness and generosity; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend the volunteers of Collin County for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | their service to their community and extend to all best wishes |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | for a superb 28th Annual Collin County Volunteer of the Year Lone |

| 26 | 26 | | Star Salute! celebration; and, be it further |
