                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 610
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the volunteers of Collin County and to celebrate
 Volunteer Day on April 21, 2009; and
 WHEREAS, Volunteers play a vital role in the successful
 development of a community; the volunteers of Collin County have
 been exceptionally generous with their time, their energy, and
 their resources and they have made a significant difference in
 the lives of others; and
 WHEREAS, On April 21, the Volunteer Center of North Texas
 will introduce the 2009 Volunteers of the Year at the Lone Star
 Salute!; the volunteer center is celebrating its 38th year of
 helping people to help others, playing matchmaker to the
 thousands of nonprofit organizations needing assistance and to
 the many volunteers who are eager to help them; and
 WHEREAS, The citizens of Collin County donate immeasurable
 hours helping to improve the lives of others in the community in
 areas ranging from violence prevention to animal advocacy; the
 Collin County Volunteer of the Year Lone Star Salute! is an
 excellent occasion to express appreciation to them for their
 kindness and generosity; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
 Legislature, hereby commend the volunteers of Collin County for
 their service to their community and extend to all best wishes
 for a superb 28th Annual Collin County Volunteer of the Year Lone
 Star Salute! celebration; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared to
 commemorate this special occasion.
