1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 620
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize the Houston chapter of the Top Ladies of Distinction,
4	4	Incorporated, on the occasion of its 44th Annual Founders' Day
5	5	Observance, which is being celebrated May 2, 2009, at the Power
6	6	Center; and
7	7	WHEREAS, The Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated, was
8	8	created in 1964 and is dedicated to enhancing the lives of women
9	9	through programs devised to better use their many talents and
10	10	skills; the Houston chapter was formed the following year; and
11	11	WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Houston chapter has
12	12	focused on numerous issues of importance to the community,
13	13	including the Top Teens of America, the status of women, senior
14	14	citizens, community beautification, and community partnerships; and
15	15	WHEREAS, The Houston chapter of the Top Ladies of
16	16	Distinction, Incorporated, has long been a source of inspiration
17	17	and strength to the community, and as it continues its efforts to
18	18	improve the lives of local citizens, the chapter looks forward to
19	19	the new challenges and achievements that are certain to follow;
20	20	now, therefore, be it
21	21	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
22	22	Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Houston chapter of
23	23	the Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated, for their years of
24	24	exemplary community service and extend to them best wishes for a
25	25	memorable 44th Annual Founders' Day Observance; and, be it further
26	26	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
27	27	this outstanding organization as an expression of esteem from the
28	28	Texas Senate.
