                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 620
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the Houston chapter of the Top Ladies of Distinction,
 Incorporated, on the occasion of its 44th Annual Founders' Day
 Observance, which is being celebrated May 2, 2009, at the Power
 Center; and
 WHEREAS, The Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated, was
 created in 1964 and is dedicated to enhancing the lives of women
 through programs devised to better use their many talents and
 skills; the Houston chapter was formed the following year; and
 WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Houston chapter has
 focused on numerous issues of importance to the community,
 including the Top Teens of America, the status of women, senior
 citizens, community beautification, and community partnerships; and
 WHEREAS, The Houston chapter of the Top Ladies of
 Distinction, Incorporated, has long been a source of inspiration
 and strength to the community, and as it continues its efforts to
 improve the lives of local citizens, the chapter looks forward to
 the new challenges and achievements that are certain to follow;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
 Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Houston chapter of
 the Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated, for their years of
 exemplary community service and extend to them best wishes for a
 memorable 44th Annual Founders' Day Observance; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 this outstanding organization as an expression of esteem from the
 Texas Senate.
