| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in |

| 3 | 3 | | recognizing Chief Deputy Fred Cochran on the occasion of his |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | retirement from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office after 48 |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | years of dedicated and loyal service in law enforcement; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Fred Cochran began his career in law enforcement |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | as a patrol officer with the Ennis Police Department in 1961 |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | after serving in the United States Army as a military police |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | officer; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, He joined the Texas Department of Public Safety in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1962 and served in the highway patrol, motor vehicle inspection |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | service, polygraph service, and criminal intelligence service; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | he worked as a chief investigator for the Texas Racing Commission |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and retired from state service in 1998; he then worked as a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | bailiff in Dallas County; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, He has served as chief deputy of operations in the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Kaufman County Sheriff's Office since January 1, 2001; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Fred Cochran has demonstrated his commitment to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | duty and served this state and the citizens of Kaufman County |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | with honor and respect; he has been an exemplary law enforcement |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | officer, and his presence in the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Chief Deputy Fred Cochran of the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Kaufman County Sheriff's Office for his exceptional service and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | his many contributions to our state and extend best wishes to him |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
