| 7 | 7 | | and the West Texas Barbecue Association has through the years |

| 8 | 8 | | provided the finest in this definitive Texas fare; and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, West Texas has long been known as a bastion of |

| 10 | 10 | | barbecue supremacy in the state, and a place where family, |

| 11 | 11 | | friends, and neighbors gather to partake of this culinary art |

| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, This year's Knights of Columbus West Texas |

| 14 | 14 | | Barbecue Association Championship Cookoff will take place in |

| 15 | 15 | | Midland on July 18, 2009, and the winner of this prestigious |

| 16 | 16 | | event will be entitled to participate in the annual Kansas City |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Royal Barbecue and will earn a draw to the Jack Daniel's Barbecue |

| 18 | 18 | | Cookoff; now, therefore, be it |

| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to the Knights of Columbus |

| 21 | 21 | | and the West Texas Barbecue Association for a successful |

| 22 | 22 | | competition; and, be it further |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
