SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 675
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the annual Knights of Columbus West Texas Barbecue
Association Championship Cookoff as a Texas State Championship
event; and
WHEREAS, Texans are well known for their love of barbecue,
and the West Texas Barbecue Association has through the years
provided the finest in this definitive Texas fare; and
WHEREAS, West Texas has long been known as a bastion of
barbecue supremacy in the state, and a place where family,
friends, and neighbors gather to partake of this culinary art
form; and
WHEREAS, This year's Knights of Columbus West Texas
Barbecue Association Championship Cookoff will take place in
Midland on July 18, 2009, and the winner of this prestigious
event will be entitled to participate in the annual Kansas City
Royal Barbecue and will earn a draw to the Jack Daniel's Barbecue
Cookoff; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to the Knights of Columbus
and the West Texas Barbecue Association for a successful
competition; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this special occasion as an expression of esteem from the Texas
Senate.
