SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 698
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
join Texans across the state in celebrating May 4 through 10, 2009,
as Public Service Recognition Week; and
WHEREAS, Public Service Recognition Week honors public
administrators who serve in federal, state, and local
government; the American Society for Public Administration is an
organization that promotes professional development for public
administrators, educators, and students; and
WHEREAS, The CenTex chapter of the American Society for
Public Administration hosts an annual dinner to honor those who
have made exceptional contributions in the field of public
administration; this outstanding organization recognizes
individuals in the categories of Public Administrator of the
Year, Emerging Public Administrator of the Year, Elected
Official of the Year, Public Administrator Educator of the Year,
and research in the field of public administration; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
Legislature, hereby commend those who serve the public for their
dedication and commitment and extend best wishes for a successful
awards banquet and a memorable Public Service Recognition Week;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of Public Service Recognition Week.
