SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 804
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize E. A. Tanner, who is retiring after more than 30 years
of exemplary service with the McAllen Independent School
District; and
WHEREAS, A native of Fort Worth, Mr. Tanner began his
service with the district at Lamar Middle School; in 1990, he
moved to Rowe High School, where he is currently choir director;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Tanner has been noted
for his ability to obtain outstanding performances from his
students; they consider him a father figure who has high
expectations of them and achieves outstanding results; and
WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, Mr. Tanner has handled
his many responsibilities with exceptional dedication and
creativity; his many students throughout the years have used the
skills and knowledge he imparted in their later schooling and in
their daily lives; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary educator and musician, Mr. Tanner is
respected and admired by his colleagues and students alike, and
his presence as choir director at Rowe High School will be
greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
Legislature, hereby commend E. A. Tanner on his exceptional
service as choir director at Rowe High School and extend to him
best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
