5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
---|
6 | 6 | | citizens of Bexar County in mourning the loss of Salvador A. |
---|
7 | 7 | | Mauricio, who died May 17, 2009, at the age of 81; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Salvador "Stomper" Mauricio was born December 9, |
---|
9 | 9 | | 1927, in San Antonio; he proudly served his country in the 25th |
---|
10 | 10 | | Infantry Division of the United States Army during the Korean |
---|
11 | 11 | | War; and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, He was a man of many interests and diverse talents |
---|
13 | 13 | | whose work included patrolling as a reserve officer for the Bexar |
---|
14 | 14 | | County Sheriff's Department, serving as a teacher in the Edgewood |
---|
15 | 15 | | Independent School District for 15 years, and delivering mail for |
---|
16 | 16 | | the United States Postal Service for 35 years; he had a passion |
---|
17 | 17 | | for traveling and enjoyed spending time with his friends and |
---|
18 | 18 | | family; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, An active volunteer and community leader, he was a |
---|
20 | 20 | | member of the Junior Optimist Club, the Saint Luke's Men's Club, |
---|
21 | 21 | | and Prospect Hill Masonic Lodge; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Salvador Mauricio was an exemplary gentleman and |
---|
23 | 23 | | was respected for his many accomplishments; he was a man of |
---|
24 | 24 | | integrity, strength, and generosity who gave unselfishly of his |
---|
25 | 25 | | time to others; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Salvador Mauricio was devoted to his wife of 50 |
---|
27 | 27 | | years, Mary Lou, and to his children and grandchildren, and he |
---|
28 | 28 | | leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his |
---|
29 | 29 | | family and many friends; now, therefore, be it |
---|
30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
---|
31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
---|
32 | 32 | | family of Salvador A. Mauricio; and, be it further |
---|
33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
---|
34 | 34 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
---|
35 | 35 | | Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
---|
36 | 36 | | memory of Salvador Mauricio. |
