99 AN ACT
1010 relating to an exemption for active duty personnel and certain
1111 veterans from the requirement to complete the live firing portion
1212 of a hunter education program.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Section 62.014, Parks and Wildlife Code, is
1515 amended by adding Subsection (n) to read as follows:
1616 (n) The following persons are exempt from any requirement to
1717 complete the live firing portion of a hunter education course under
1818 this section:
1919 (1) an honorably discharged veteran of the United
2020 States armed forces; or
2121 (2) a person who is on active duty as a member of the
2222 United States military forces, the Texas Army National Guard, the
2323 Texas Air National Guard, or the Texas State Guard.
2424 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2525 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2626 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2727 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2828 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
