11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 141.032, Election Code, is amended by |
---|
13 | 13 | | adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: |
---|
14 | 14 | | (g) After the filing deadline: |
---|
15 | 15 | | (1) a candidate may not amend an application filed |
---|
16 | 16 | | under Section 141.031; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | (2) the authority with whom the application is filed |
---|
18 | 18 | | may not accept an amendment to an application filed under Section |
---|
19 | 19 | | 141.031. |

20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. Section 141.062, Election Code, is amended by |
---|
21 | 21 | | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
---|
22 | 22 | | (c) After the filing deadline: |
---|
23 | 23 | | (1) a candidate may not amend a petition in lieu of a |
---|
24 | 24 | | filing fee submitted with the candidate's application; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | (2) the authority with whom the application is filed |
---|
26 | 26 | | may not accept an amendment to a petition in lieu of a filing fee |
---|
27 | 27 | | submitted with the candidate's application. |
---|
28 | 28 | | SECTION 3. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
---|
29 | 29 | | to a candidate's application for a place on the ballot that is filed |
---|
30 | 30 | | on or after the effective date of this Act. |
---|
31 | 31 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
