1010 relating to an application to run for political office.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 141.032, Election Code, is amended by
1313 adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
1414 (g) After the filing deadline:
1515 (1) a candidate may not amend an application filed
1616 under Section 141.031; and
1717 (2) the authority with whom the application is filed
1818 may not accept an amendment to an application filed under Section
1919 141.031.
2020 SECTION 2. Section 141.062, Election Code, is amended by
2121 adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
2222 (c) After the filing deadline:
2323 (1) a candidate may not amend a petition in lieu of a
2424 filing fee submitted with the candidate's application; and
2525 (2) the authority with whom the application is filed
2626 may not accept an amendment to a petition in lieu of a filing fee
2727 submitted with the candidate's application.
2828 SECTION 3. The change in law made by this Act applies only
2929 to a candidate's application for a place on the ballot that is filed
3030 on or after the effective date of this Act.
3131 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
