                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 25, 2011      TO: Honorable Wayne Smith, Chair, House Committee on Environmental Regulation      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB125 by Legler (Relating to the regulatory analysis of rules proposed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to perform a regulatory analysis for all environmental rules, as that term is defined in the bill. The TCEQ reports that it already completes work to satisfy most of the bill's requirements. Any additional workload required by the bill is not expected to be significant and could be absorbed using existing agency resoures.
