12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 5.201, Business Organizations Code, is | |
14 | 14 | amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
15 | 15 | (d) A registered agent that is an organization must have an | |
16 | 16 | employee available at the registered office during normal business | |
17 | 17 | hours to receive service of process, notice, or demand. Any | |
18 | 18 | employee of the organization may receive service at the registered | |
19 | 19 | office. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. Section 5.201(d), Business Organizations Code, | |
21 | 21 | as added by this Act, applies to all process served on or after the | |
22 | 22 | effective date of this Act, without regard to whether the process | |
23 | 23 | was issued before, on, or after that date. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | |
