99 AN ACT
1010 relating to service of process at the registered office of certain
1111 registered agents.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 5.201, Business Organizations Code, is
1414 amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
1515 (d) A registered agent that is an organization must have an
1616 employee available at the registered office during normal business
1717 hours to receive service of process, notice, or demand. Any
1818 employee of the organization may receive service at the registered
1919 office.
2020 SECTION 2. Section 5.201(d), Business Organizations Code,
2121 as added by this Act, applies to all process served on or after the
2222 effective date of this Act, without regard to whether the process
2323 was issued before, on, or after that date.
2424 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
