99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the reporting of certain information to the director of
1111 the bureau of vital statistics.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 191.024(a), Health and Safety Code, is
1414 amended to read as follows:
1515 (a) On the state registrar's demand, a person, including a
1616 local registrar, physician, midwife, or funeral director, who has
1717 information relating to a birth, death, or fetal death shall supply
1818 the information to the state registrar in person, by mail, or
1919 through the local registrar. The person shall supply the
2020 information on a form provided by the department or on the original
2121 certificate.
2222 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2323 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2424 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2525 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2626 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
