12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 191.024(a), Health and Safety Code, is |
---|
14 | 14 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
15 | 15 | | (a) On the state registrar's demand, a person, including a |
---|
16 | 16 | | local registrar, physician, midwife, or funeral director, who has |
---|
17 | 17 | | information relating to a birth, death, or fetal death shall supply |
---|
18 | 18 | | the information to the state registrar in person, by mail, or |
---|
19 | 19 | | through the local registrar. The person shall supply the |
---|
20 | 20 | | information on a form provided by the department or on the original |
---|
21 | 21 | | certificate. |

22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
23 | 23 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
24 | 24 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
25 | 25 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
26 | 26 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
