1010 AN ACT
1111 relating to certification of a person as eligible for disabled
1212 parking privileges.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Section 681.003(f), Transportation Code, as
1515 added by Chapter 842 (S.B. 1984), Acts of the 81st Legislature,
1616 Regular Session, 2009, is amended to read as follows:
1717 (f) This subsection applies only to the first application
1818 for a disabled parking placard submitted by a person [who resides in
1919 a county with a population of 125,000 or less]. The notarized
2020 written statement or prescription may be issued by:
2121 (1) a person acting under the delegation and
2222 supervision of a licensed physician in conformance with Subchapter
2323 B, Chapter 157, Occupations Code; or
2424 (2) a physician assistant licensed to practice in this
2525 state acting as the agent of a licensed physician under Section
2626 204.202(e), Occupations Code.
2727 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2828 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2929 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3030 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3131 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
