| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 130.065(g), Education Code, is amended | |
| 11 | 11 | to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (g) The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or | |
| 13 | 13 | against the proposition: "Approving the annexation by the | |
| 14 | 14 | _________ (name of junior college district) ["Annexation] of the | |
| 15 | 15 | following territory [for junior college purposes]: __________ | |
| 16 | 16 | (with [", with] the blank filled in with a description of the | |
| 17 | 17 | territory proposed for annexation), and authorizing the imposition | |
| 18 | 18 | of an ad valorem tax for junior college purposes, which is currently | |
| 19 | 19 | set at a rate of ____________ (with the blank filled in with the ad | |
| 20 | 20 | valorem tax rate of the district for the current year or, if that | |
| 21 | 21 | rate has not been adopted, the tax rate for the preceding year) per | |
| 22 | 22 | $100 valuation of taxable property."[.] | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 24 | 24 | to the ballot for an election ordered to be held on or after the | |
| 25 | 25 | effective date of this Act. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
