| 13 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 14 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Section 681.008(b), Transportation Code, as |

| 15 | 15 | | amended by Chapters 115 (H.B. 2020) and 319 (H.B. 618), Acts of the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 81st Legislature, Regular Session, 2009, is reenacted and amended |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | to read as follows: |

| 18 | 18 | | (b) A vehicle on which license plates described by |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Subsection (a)(2) or issued under Section 504.202, Section |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 504.315(c), (d), (e), (f), [or] (g), or (h), or Section 504.316 are |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | displayed is exempt from the payment of a parking fee collected |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | through a parking meter charged by a governmental authority other |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | than a branch of the federal government, when being operated by or |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | for the transportation of: |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (1) the person who registered the vehicle under |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Section 504.202(a), Section 504.315(c), (d), (e), (f), [or] (g), or |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (h), or Section 504.316; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (2) a person described in Section 504.202(b) if the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | vehicle is registered under that subsection; or |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (3) the owner or operator of a vehicle displaying |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | license plates described by Subsection (a)(2). |

| 32 | 32 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
