13 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

14 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Section 291.010(a), Local Government Code, is |
---|
15 | 15 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
16 | 16 | | (a) The commissioners court of a county [with a population |
---|
17 | 17 | | of 2.8 million or more] by order may: |
---|
18 | 18 | | (1) authorize the issuance of an identification card |
---|
19 | 19 | | to individuals permitting entrance into a county building that |
---|
20 | 20 | | houses a justice court, county court, county court at law, or |
---|
21 | 21 | | district court without passing through the security services |
---|
22 | 22 | | provided under Article 102.017, Code of Criminal Procedure; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | (2) set a reasonable fee for the issuance of the |
---|
24 | 24 | | identification card to individuals other than county employees. |
---|
25 | 25 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
