12 | 12 | exempt from child-care licensing requirements. | |
13 | 13 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
14 | 14 | SECTION 1. Section 42.041, Human Resources Code, is amended | |
15 | 15 | by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | |
16 | 16 | (f) A child-care facility that is exempt under Subsection | |
17 | 17 | (b)(3) from the licensing requirement of Subsection (a) may provide | |
18 | 18 | care for each child at the child-care facility for not more than 15 | |
19 | 19 | hours a week if the child-care facility: | |
20 | 20 | (1) provides the child care so that a person may attend | |
21 | 21 | an educational class provided by a nonprofit entity; and | |
22 | 22 | (2) is located in a county with a population of 800,000 | |
23 | 23 | or more that is adjacent to an international border. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | |
