99 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1010 AN ACT
1111 relating to the provision of child care by certain facilities
1212 exempt from child-care licensing requirements.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Section 42.041, Human Resources Code, is amended
1515 by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
1616 (f) A child-care facility that is exempt under Subsection
1717 (b)(3) from the licensing requirement of Subsection (a) may provide
1818 care for each child at the child-care facility for not more than 15
1919 hours a week if the child-care facility:
2020 (1) provides the child care so that a person may attend
2121 an educational class provided by a nonprofit entity; and
2222 (2) is located in a county with a population of 800,000
2323 or more that is adjacent to an international border.
2424 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
