99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the period of a license for a freestanding medical
1111 emergency care facility.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 254.051(f), Health and Safety Code, is
1414 amended to read as follows:
1515 (f) Notwithstanding Section 254.053(f), a [A] facility that
1616 is not in continuous operation 24 hours per day and 7 days per week
1717 cannot be issued a license with a term that extends beyond August
1818 31, 2013.
1919 SECTION 2. Section 254.053(f), Health and Safety Code, is
2020 amended to read as follows:
2121 (f) The license fee must be paid [annually] on renewal of
2222 the license. The term of a license issued under this chapter is two
2323 years.
2424 SECTION 3. The change in law made by this Act applies only
2525 to a license issued or renewed on or after the effective date of
2626 this Act. A license issued or renewed before the effective date of
2727 this Act is governed by the law in effect immediately before the
2828 effective date of this Act, and that law is continued in effect for
2929 that purpose.
3030 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
