| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, | |
| 11 | 11 | is amended by adding Section 225.082 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 225.082. JAIME ZAPATA MEMORIAL BOULEVARD. (a) U.S. | |
| 13 | 13 | Highway 77/83 from the Brownsville and Matamoros Bridge to State | |
| 14 | 14 | Highway 4, and State Highway 4 from U.S. Highway 77/83 to State | |
| 15 | 15 | Highway 48, are designated as Jaime Zapata Memorial Boulevard. | |
| 16 | 16 | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) design and construct markers indicating the | |
| 18 | 18 | highway number, the designation as Jaime Zapata Memorial Boulevard, | |
| 19 | 19 | and any other appropriate information; and | |
| 20 | 20 | (2) erect a marker at each end of the boulevard and at | |
| 21 | 21 | appropriate intermediate sites along the boulevard. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
