99 AN ACT
1010 relating to compensatory time off for certain employees of the
1111 Parks and Wildlife Department.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 662.005(b), Government Code, is amended
1414 to read as follows:
1515 (b) Except as provided by Section 662.010, and
1616 notwithstanding Section 659.015 or another law, a state employee
1717 who is a peace officer commissioned by a state officer or state
1818 agency listed under Article 2.12, Code of Criminal Procedure, or
1919 who is employed by the Department of Public Safety either to perform
2020 communications or dispatch services related to traffic law
2121 enforcement or as a public security officer, as that term is defined
2222 by Section 1701.001, Occupations Code, or who is employed by the
2323 Parks and Wildlife Department to perform communications and
2424 dispatch services to assist law enforcement officers commissioned
2525 by the Parks and Wildlife Commission in performing law enforcement
2626 duties, and who is required to work on a national or state holiday
2727 that falls on a Saturday or Sunday is entitled to compensatory time
2828 off at the rate of one hour for each hour worked on the holiday.
2929 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3030 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3131 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3232 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3333 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
