11 | 11 | | Parks and Wildlife Department. |

12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 662.005(b), Government Code, is amended |
---|
14 | 14 | | to read as follows: |
---|
15 | 15 | | (b) Except as provided by Section 662.010, and |
---|
16 | 16 | | notwithstanding Section 659.015 or another law, a state employee |
---|
17 | 17 | | who is a peace officer commissioned by a state officer or state |
---|
18 | 18 | | agency listed under Article 2.12, Code of Criminal Procedure, or |
---|
19 | 19 | | who is employed by the Department of Public Safety either to perform |
---|
20 | 20 | | communications or dispatch services related to traffic law |
---|
21 | 21 | | enforcement or as a public security officer, as that term is defined |
---|
22 | 22 | | by Section 1701.001, Occupations Code, or who is employed by the |
---|
23 | 23 | | Parks and Wildlife Department to perform communications and |
---|
24 | 24 | | dispatch services to assist law enforcement officers commissioned |
---|
25 | 25 | | by the Parks and Wildlife Commission in performing law enforcement |
---|
26 | 26 | | duties, and who is required to work on a national or state holiday |
---|
27 | 27 | | that falls on a Saturday or Sunday is entitled to compensatory time |
---|
28 | 28 | | off at the rate of one hour for each hour worked on the holiday. |
---|
29 | 29 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
30 | 30 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
31 | 31 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
32 | 32 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
33 | 33 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
