99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the board of directors of the Trinity Memorial Hospital
1111 District.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 5(i), Chapter 265, Acts of the 67th
1414 Legislature, Regular Session, 1981, is amended to read as follows:
1515 (i) The board shall organize by electing one of its number
1616 as president and one of its number as vice-president. A secretary,
1717 who need not be a director, also shall be elected. Officers shall
1818 be elected for a term of one year, and a vacancy shall be filled for
1919 the unexpired term by the board. Any five [four] members of the
2020 board constitute a quorum, and a concurrence of five [four] is
2121 sufficient in all matters pertaining to the business of the
2222 district. All members of the board and officers serve without
2323 compensation but may be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in
2424 the performance of their official duties if those expenses are
2525 approved by the board and reported in the minute book of the
2626 district or other records of the district.
2727 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2828 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2929 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3030 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3131 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
