| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, | |
| 13 | 13 | is amended by adding Section 225.0431 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 225.0431. CESAR CHAVEZ MEMORIAL FREEWAY. | |
| 15 | 15 | (a) Interstate Highway 35W between Interstate Highway 20 and State | |
| 16 | 16 | Highway 183 is designated as the Cesar Chavez Memorial Freeway. The | |
| 17 | 17 | designation is in addition to any other designation. | |
| 18 | 18 | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: | |
| 19 | 19 | (1) design and construct memorial markers indicating | |
| 20 | 20 | the highway number, the designation as the Cesar Chavez Memorial | |
| 21 | 21 | Freeway, and any other appropriate information; and | |
| 22 | 22 | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at | |
| 23 | 23 | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
