9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 1701.154, Occupations Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 1701.154. FEES. (a) The commission may establish | |
13 | 13 | reasonable and necessary fees for the administration of this | |
14 | 14 | chapter, including reasonable and necessary fees for the | |
15 | 15 | administration of Section 1701.257. | |
16 | 16 | (b) The commission may refund an application fee, including | |
17 | 17 | a fee that is otherwise nonrefundable, paid for an application if | |
18 | 18 | the commission determines the application was submitted by mistake. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
20 | 20 | to an application submitted to the Commission on Law Enforcement | |
21 | 21 | Officer Standards and Education on or after the effective date of | |
22 | 22 | this Act. An application submitted before the effective date of | |
23 | 23 | this Act is governed by the law in effect immediately before the | |
24 | 24 | effective date of this Act, and that law is continued in effect for | |
25 | 25 | that purpose. | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
