R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An official auxiliary of the Texas Republican Party,
the Texas College Republicans is dedicated to encouraging
participation in civic life and to developing leadership among
young people pursuing higher education; and
WHEREAS, The organization, which boasts more than 30 chapters
and some 2,500 members, offers college students across the Lone
Star State unique opportunities to participate in the political
process and to learn about the way government functions at the
local, state, and national levels; in addition, TCR promotes
awareness of contemporary issues and involvement in the community
and works to contribute to the growth and influence of the
Republican Party in Texas; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Capitol provides a fitting location for
such special events as the annual state convention sponsored by the
group; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature, in accordance with the rules and policies of the
Committee on House Administration, hereby grant permission to the
Texas College Republicans to use the house chamber on March 24,
2012, provided that the house is not in session.
