9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 243.0075, Local | |
11 | 11 | Government Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (a) An applicant for a license or permit issued under | |
13 | 13 | Section 243.007 for a location not currently [previously] licensed | |
14 | 14 | or permitted shall, not later than the 60th day before the date the | |
15 | 15 | application is filed, prominently post an outdoor sign at the | |
16 | 16 | location stating that a sexually oriented business is intended to | |
17 | 17 | be located on the premises and providing the name and business | |
18 | 18 | address of the applicant. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
20 | 20 | to an application for a license or permit filed on or after | |
21 | 21 | September 1, 2011. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
23 | 23 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
24 | 24 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
25 | 25 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
26 | 26 | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
