 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to notice by sign requirement for sexually oriented
 businesses.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Subsection (a), Section 243.0075, Local
 Government Code, is amended to read as follows:
 (a)  An applicant for a license or permit issued under
 Section 243.007 for a location not currently [previously] licensed
 or permitted shall, not later than the 60th day before the date the
 application is filed, prominently post an outdoor sign at the
 location stating that a sexually oriented business is intended to
 be located on the premises and providing the name and business
 address of the applicant.
 SECTION 2.  The change in law made by this Act applies only
 to an application for a license or permit filed on or after
 September 1, 2011.
 SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
