| 15 | 15 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 16 | 16 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 552, Government Code, is |

| 17 | 17 | | amended by adding Section 552.0038 to read as follows: |

| 18 | 18 | | Sec. 552.0038. CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND NONPROFIT |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | CORPORATIONS PROVIDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SERVICES. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Notwithstanding any other law, a chamber of commerce or nonprofit |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | corporation that provides economic development services to a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | governmental body is subject to this chapter only with respect to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | information that the chamber of commerce or nonprofit corporation |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | collects, assembles, or maintains and that relates to public funds |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | received by the chamber of commerce or nonprofit corporation and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | paid to or for the benefit of a public employee or other public |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | official, or a group of such public employees or other public |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | officials. |
