1010 relating to the provision of emergency services in certain rural
1111 counties using admission fees charged at state parks.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Subtitle B, Title 11, Local Government Code, is
1414 amended by adding Chapter 354 to read as follows:
1515 CHAPTER 354. EMERGENCY SERVICES IN RURAL COUNTIES
1616 SUBCHAPTER A. GENERAL PROVISIONS
1717 Sec. 354.001. APPLICABILITY. This chapter applies only to
1818 a county with:
1919 (1) a population of less than 20,000;
2020 (2) a state park; and
2121 (3) an interstate highway.

2323 SUBCHAPTER B. STATE PARKS
2424 Sec. 354.051. ADMISSION TO PARK; USE OF MONEY FOR EMERGENCY
2525 SERVICES. (a) The Parks and Wildlife Department shall use $1 from
2626 the admission to a state park in the county for the purposes
2727 described by this section. Revenue collected under this section
2828 may be appropriated only to the department to award grants to a
2929 county that provides emergency services that directly or indirectly
3030 benefit the park.
3131 (b) The county shall use the money to pay for emergency
3232 services provided by the county in the county, including emergency
3333 services provided by volunteers.
3434 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3535 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3636 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3737 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3838 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
