10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 791.011, Government Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | amending Subsection (f) and adding Subsection (i) to read as | |
13 | 13 | follows: | |
14 | 14 | (f) An interlocal contract may be renewed [annually]. | |
15 | 15 | (i) Notwithstanding Subsection (d), an interlocal contract | |
16 | 16 | may have a specified term of years. | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the date on which the | |
18 | 18 | constitutional amendment proposed by the 82nd Legislature, Regular | |
19 | 19 | Session, 2011, to authorize the legislature to allow cities or | |
20 | 20 | counties to enter into interlocal contracts with other cities or | |
21 | 21 | counties without the imposition of a tax or the provision of a | |
22 | 22 | sinking fund is approved by the voters. If that amendment is not | |
23 | 23 | approved by the voters, this Act has no effect. |
