       AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT   In H.C.R. 36, Acts of the 79th Legislature, Regular Session, 2005, the Texas Legislature authorized the State Preservation Board to approve the construction of a monument on the Capitol grounds recognizing Texans who served in the Vietnam War. Although the monument has yet to be installed, the legislature supports continued authorization for its construction and for its placement at the location approved by the State Preservation Board.    RESOLVED    That the 82nd Legislature of the State of Texas hereby express continued support for the construction of a monument on the Capitol grounds, at the location approved by the State Preservation Board, recognizing Texans who served in the Vietnam War.   That the Texas secretary of state forward an official copy of this resolution to the executive director and members of the State Preservation Board.
