| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 323.0145, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (e) If the text of a document described by Subsection |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (a)(2)(C) or (D) includes a cross-reference to a section of state |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | statute, the council to the extent feasible shall include in any |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | electronic version of the document made available to the public |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | through the Internet an electronic link or other method by which a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | person reading the document may automatically access the text of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the referenced section. |

| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | to a bill or joint resolution filed, or an amendment or substitute |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | adopted by a legislative committee, on or after the effective date |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | of this Act. |

| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect November 1, 2014. |
