99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the criminal penalty for acting as an agent after
1111 suspension or revocation of the agent's license.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 4005.151(b), Insurance Code, is amended
1414 to read as follows:
1515 (b) An offense under this section is a felony of the third
1616 degree [punishable by:
1717 [(1) a fine not to exceed $5,000;
1818 [(2) imprisonment for a term of not more than two
1919 years; or
2020 [(3) both fine and imprisonment under this
2121 subsection].
2222 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
2323 to an offense committed on or after the effective date of this Act.
2424 An offense committed before the effective date of this Act is
2525 governed by the law in effect on the date the offense was committed,
2626 and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. For
2727 purposes of this section, an offense was committed before the
2828 effective date of this Act if any element of the offense occurred
2929 before that date.
3030 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
