10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 14, Article 18.21, Code of Criminal | |
12 | 12 | Procedure, is amended by adding Subsection (e-1) to read as | |
13 | 13 | follows: | |
14 | 14 | (e-1) The district judge shall seal any documents submitted | |
15 | 15 | to the court under this section, and any order or extension of an | |
16 | 16 | order issued under this section, until the period authorized by the | |
17 | 17 | order and extension expires. | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
19 | 19 | to an application for a mobile tracking device that is submitted on | |
20 | 20 | or after the effective date of this Act. An application for a mobile | |
21 | 21 | tracking device that is submitted before the effective date of this | |
22 | 22 | Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the application was | |
23 | 23 | submitted, and the former law is continued in effect for that | |
24 | 24 | purpose. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
