| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 74.103, Government Code, is amended to | |
| 11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 74.103. STAFF. (a) The courts may appoint appropriate | |
| 13 | 13 | staff and support personnel according to the needs in each county. | |
| 14 | 14 | (b) Staff and support personnel appointed under this | |
| 15 | 15 | section serve at the pleasure of the judge who appointed the staff | |
| 16 | 16 | or personnel. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. Section 74.104(a), Government Code, is amended | |
| 18 | 18 | to read as follows: | |
| 19 | 19 | (a) The judges shall determine reasonable compensation for | |
| 20 | 20 | the court coordinators, staff, and support personnel, subject to | |
| 21 | 21 | approval of the commissioners court. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
